A hugely successful All-Ireland Final ticket draw has helped raise over €15,000 for Glentie’s Scoil Mhuire, thanks to the generosity of parent Connell McLoone, who sourced the much sought-after tickets.
The raffle was a major highlight of the school’s recent fundraising campaign and received tremendous support from both the local and wider community.
In total, more than €18,000 was raised through a range of initiatives led by the Scoil Mhuire Parents’ Association, with the funds presented this week to Principal Cróna Regan by PA Chairperson Carina Mahoney and fellow committee members.
The money will be used to support the creation of a sensory courtyard—a dedicated, calming space designed to benefit all students—as well as contributing to swimming lessons, external curriculum activities, and vital resources to support the rollout of the new primary curriculum.
Principal Cróna Regan extended heartfelt thanks to the Parents’ Association for their continued support and commitment.
“We are incredibly grateful not only to the PA but to our entire school community,” she said. “The generosity shown by parents, local businesses, and supporters near and far has been truly amazing. These funds will make a lasting impact on our school and students.”
Also present at the cheque presentation was Noel Gallagher of McCabe Architects, who expressed excitement about the project and his firm’s involvement.
“We’re delighted to come on board,” he said. “McCabes are passionate about creating inclusive, nurturing spaces, and we look forward to bringing the school’s vision to life.”
The school now looks ahead with enthusiasm as plans for the sensory courtyard take shape, supported by a strong spirit of community and collaboration.
