A Buncrana man has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving causing death.
Seosamh Gonigle appeared before Letterkenny District Court in connection with the incident.
The 21 year old was charged with dangerous driving causing the death of John Hegarty at Carnashannagh, Burnfoot, on July 12th, 2015.
Garda Gerard Vaughan of Bunrnfoot Garda station told the court that he arrested Gonigle by arrangement.
Gonigle, of Glackmore, Muff, did not speak during the brief appearance.
Garda Inspector Goretti Sheridan told the court that the Director of PUblic Prosecution’s directions were in court and she had agreed to prosecution on indictment.
There was no Garda objection to bail.
Judge Deirdre Gearty agreed to bail under the conditions that Gonigle sign on weekly, surrender his passport and that €1,000 cash surety be lodged in court.
The case was adjourned to Buncrana District Court on September 14th.
