SHOPPERS are out in their thousands this evening – bringing traffic tailbacks in Letterkenny, Ballybofey and Donegal Town.
After a miserable Christmas hit by the weather, it seems that everyone with any money left is out and about today spending it.
In Ballybofey, McElhinneys Department store saw a brace of bargain hunters.
But it was in Letterkenny where most people seemed to be shopping.
There were queues into and out of the car parks around the town, particularly around Main Street and the Retail Park.
And those weren’t the only queues – shoppers queued at the fitting rooms in fashion stores like Tempest where people were taking advantage of half price bargains.
The sales boost could not have come at a better time for local businesses.
