BOOZY BEACH PARTY CAUSES UPROAR IN BUNCRANA

A boozy beach party in Buncrana on Good Friday has caused outrage among locals.

It is believed a number of buses arrived from Northern Ireland with more than 100 youths leaving the shorefront in a mess.

Numerous complaints were made to Gardai and one person was arrested.

A quantity of alcohol was also seized by Gardai.

Mayor Cllr Michael Grant said such incidents may damage Buncrana’s future tourism prospects.

He says it’s particularly disappointing after what was a very successful clean up in Inishowen the previous weekend.

“We are very annoyed by what happened not just because it was Good Friday but because of the fact that the area was left in such a mess.

“The of Buncrana and Inishowen in general went out of their way the previous week to carry out a huge clean-up and for people to come along and to do this is just not in,” he said.
