Austeja Accueita bowed out of the 1st AIBA Women’s World Youth and Junior Championships following semi-final defeats in Antalya, Turkey.

Accueita, of the Finn Valley BC, was beaten 16-3 by Agnes Alexiusson of Sweden in the 60Kg World Junior semi-final.

The defeats brought the curtain down on Ireland’s competitive involvement in the inaugural tournament.

Friday is a rest day at the Championships. The finals and medals ceremony will be held on Saturday.

And Austeja will come home to a heroine’s welcome on Sunday.
