Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 02.05.11
The Seniors were narrowly beaten away to Four Masters on Saturday, ending their recent good run. The Reserves continued their impressive start to the season with agood win over the Donegal Town men, Lee McMonagle netting both their goals. This Sunday both teams travel to Ardara.
The Junior Men began their League campaign with a good win over Naomh Columba. After a closely contested first half, a Michael Moreton goal early in the second half gave the lads some breathing space and they won comfortably in the end, 1-14 to 0-05. They are away to Glenfin this Saturday.
The Senior Ladies were due to take on Moville on Monday in the Park but the Inishowen girls were unable to field.
There was double disappointment for our underage teams over the weekend with the opposition unable to field. The Minor boys footballers were due to travel to Gaoth Dobhair on Friday night but the home side were unable to field. Then on Monday, the U-12 boys were due to travel to Downings for Go-Games on Monday evening but once again the home team informed us they would be unable to field a team.
The U-16 Boys had an impressive win over Buncrana on Monday in Convoy in the Northern League Final. They await the Southern Board runners up which is likely to be either Dungloe or Aodh Ruadh.
The U-11 team had an impressive win over Buncrana in the Go-Games in the Park on Monday evening winning by 3-11 to 2-06.
The James Gallagher Cup team travelled to Fanad last Tuesday and had an impressive win. They have now qualified for the semi finals along with Gaoth Dobhair, Naomh Conaill and Ardara.
There was a great win for the Minors in the Hurling Championship Semi-Final against Aodh Ruadh last Thursday. The U-14 Hurlers had a good win away to Carndonagh also last Thursday. The U-14 Hurlers took part in the Ulster Feile in Martinstown last Saturday beating St Brendan’s of Antrim and Burt. However they were narrowly beaten by a very strong Oisin Glengariff of Antrim. Well done to the lads.
The U-14 Hurlers are home to Letterkenny Gaels this Thursday in the League. The Minor Hurlers await the winners of the Burt v Setanta Semi-Final. The U12 Camogie hosted the first of the Go-Game Camogie Blitz in O’Donnell Park on Friday. A very young team performed very well against Burt and MacCumhaills.
U-12 & U-14 Hurling training is on Tuesday at 5:30pm. U-16 & Minor training is on each Monday at 5:30pm. There will be further U-10 Hurling blitzes on 22nd May, 26th June & 24th July.
The Friday Hurling / Camogie Academy will resume this Friday, May 6th at 6:30. The next U-8 hurling blitz will be held on 8th May, 12th June and 10 July.
There was one winner of last week’s Lotto draw. Aisling Mullen of Ballbofey matched 3 numbers and won €100. The numbers were 15-17-19-24.
