DONEGAL’S CLASH WITH ANTRIM TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON RTE

The Ulster SFC preliminary round meeting of Donegal and Antrim will kickstart the live television coverage of the 2011 GAA Football Championships.

The Ballybofey encounter on Sunday, May 15 is the first of this summer’s matches to receive the ‘live’ treatment in what is a trimmed down broadcast schedule.

Donegal will have Paddy McGrath and Neil McGee available for their Ulster senior football championship opener against Antrim on Sunday week.

Corner-back McGrath and full-back McGee missed the Allianz League Division 2 final win over Laois due to quad strain and hamstring injuries respectively, but both have made good recoveries and will be fit for the visit of the Saffrons.

Manager Jim McGuinness also confirmed that Karl Lacey and Michael Murphy came through the league decider unscathed.

“The only slight concern we have for the Antrim game is that a few players picked up some bumps and bruises in the All-County League last weekend,” he remarked.

“But none of those are of a serious nature, so, hopefully, we will have a full panel to pick from for Sunday week.”
