An ear, nose and throat clinic at Letterkenny General Hospital has been deferred because of the impact of high volumes of people attending the hospital, it said today.
The emergency department at the hospital is described as extremely busy and delays can be expected according to a spokesperson for the hospital.
The hospital is also advising people that due to the high number of admissions recently, patients due for a planned admission as an inpatient at the hospital should contact the hospital beforehand to confirm the availability of a bed.

“We regret any inconvenience that these measures may cause and we would like to thank the public for their help and co-operation,” it said in a statement.
