Our senior teams travelled to Lifford on sunday last and were defeated in both matches by the superior Naomh Padraig teams. However many of our young players performed well on the day. Fixtures for next weekend will be announced at training on Tuesday evening.
Our U16s are scheduled to play Red Hughs in the championship on Monday evening next
The U14s were defeated in Glenswilly on Wednwsday last . They are at home to Milford this coming Wednesday.
The U12 gaelic team travelled to Cloughaneely last Monday and came home with a good victory. The large squad worked well with plenty of competitive spirit and fully deserved their win.
The U10s brought nearly 30 players to a blitz in Cloughaneely last Saturday and won all of their matches. Well done to all players on the day and to coaches and parents who supported. Thanks to Cloughaneely for organising the blitz.
O’Donnell Park was the venue for the monthly U12 blitz last Sunday. 6 teams took part with Gaels making use of the large squad in every match. The boys and girls showed some great skills with younger players gaining useful match experience. Thanks to parents and coaches, and to St. Eunans for refreshments.
The Under 8s travel to Milford on Saturday next for the Blitz Finals Day.
Gaels underage girls’ gaelic teams hosted Termon girls on Monday evening for friendly matches. Great craic was had by all the girls with coaches making sure all players saw plenty of ball. There were some very skilful players on view from both teams and it is hoped that this was the first of many challenges between the clubs. Thanks go to all coaches for co-ordinating the evening and to parents who supplied delicious home baking for the players.
Gaels completed a successful series of visits to local national schools over the past 2 weeks. The skills of gaelic football, hurling and camogie were demonstrated to many children and were greatly enjoyed by all. Thank you to all schools and staff for their help and organisation. Thanks to coaches who took part and especially to young players Conor McBrearty, Ciaran Lynch, Sean Crossan, Caoimhe Cahill, Dearbhla Cahill, Ciaran Kelly, Paul Ferry, Jonathon Cannon and Rory Quinn who gave up their free time to help. Their participation and enthusiasm was noted by all school staff and they were a credit to the club.
