GAA: NOTAÍ GAEIL LEITIR CEANNAIN

Our Seniors played  Convoy in the League at Páirc na nGael on Friday evening last. Convoy came from behind to draw level in the last kick of the game. Ciaran Cannon Pauric Mulpeter Odhran Mc Macken and Conor McBrearty all showed well for the home side. Final score was 1.11 each.

The reserves made the trip to  Dooey on Saturday evening for the Junior B 2nd Leg of the championship and were defeated on a scoreline of 0.13 to 0.11. The main feature of the match was the scoring contest between veteran PJ Hanlon Na Rossa (0.9) and 17 year old Odhran Mc Macken(0.7) Gaels.

Both teams travel to Dunkineely on Saturday evening for a Double header. Reserve match at 5.30 and Senior match at 7pm.The U16s recorded a good victory over Downings in the Shield semi Final on Monday evening last. The boys had excellent performances from Shaun Henry and Conor Browne at the back,Conor Sweeney at Midfield, Aron Diver and Tristan Ferris in attack.Final score 5.11 to 4.7.

They now play Naomh Colmcille in the Final which is scheduled for this weekend.Congratulations to Peter O’Donnell, Shay Doherty, Cathair Doherty and Brian Diver who have been selected for the Donegal U12 hurling development squad that travel to Croke Park in July.

The U12 hurling league starts next Thursday evening with a home match for Gaels against Dungloe. Training continues on Tuesday 6.30pm for all players, new players always welcome.

The U12 gaelic team battled well but were defeated at home by St. Eunans last Monday. There is no match this week but training continues at usual times.

The club hosted two U10 teams from Downings on Saturday last, On a beautiful day for football the teams played two very completive matches with the A’s losing by a point in a very evenly contested match, the B’s went down fighting by 4 points to a stronger Downings Team. The U10s travel to Milford this Saturday morning for their next games.

Lotto results for week-ending 3rd July. No’s drawn were 1, 3, 6, 21.  Match 3 winner was Michael McElhinney Drumnaskeagh, Letterkenny. Next weekends Jackpot will be 6,000 Euro.
