DLDC Promoting Rural Recreation
(Trails) Funding 2007 – 2013
Donegal Local Development Company Ltd., as part of their promotion and development of Rural Recreation, are hosting two information evenings in order to provide information on developing trails and potential funding available.
Currently, the company, delivers among its Rural Development Programmes, the RDP (Leader) 2007-2013, the Rural Recreation Programme as well as two Walks Schemes. To date DLDC has developed several recreation projects including the Blue Stack Way, the recently opened Mc Swyne’s Gun Loop Walk at Horne Head. Many other recreation projects including looped walks have also been funded within the catchment area.
The events will take place on Tuesday 19th July 2011 at the Erne Enterprise Centre in Ballyshannon and Wednesday 20th July 2011 at the Ramelton Town Hall. The evenings will begin at 7.30 pm and are expected to be one and a half hours in duration.
Inga Bock, Rural Recreational Officer will give an outline of the Trail Development Steps, while Frank Kelly, Rural Development Manager, will outline the potential funding which could be available to help develop and establish your trail.
The overall aim of LEADER is to encourage rural project promoters, both community groups and private promoters to think about the long term-potential of their area. So,
if you or your committee has an idea for a Rural Recreation project, that can help improve the quality of life in your area, or encourage diversification within the economy of your area, then please come along to one of the above evenings.
