Naomh Mhuire

Under 8s training continues at 11 on Saturdays. The under 10s will host a blitz in the banks this Saturday morning starting at 11am. Training for the under 10s takes place on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6pm for the next couple of weeks.

The under 13s started their division 1 league campaign with a 3 point defeat to Aodh Ruadh and a 7 point win away to Bundoran. Well done boys, a good start. Training continues Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Their next game is away to Killybegs on Saturday morning.

The under 16s lost their div 1 county final to Aodh Ruadh last Wednesday night in Ballybofey. Our boys never got going against a stronger Aodh Ruadh team who are deserved champions. Our lads have had a good season and will learn from the year gone by. There is a players meeting for all u-16 players on Friday evening at the banks at 7pm. All are asked to attend.

Well done to Eugene Byrne who took part in the u12 skills competition in Convoy last Friday. Good luck to all our players who started secondary school in the last few days. Enjoy all the sport on offer.

The Seniors played the second leg in the Intermediate Championship last weekend in Newtown. After a good start and making all the right moves the games was not finished out and Newtown came back to get a one point victory – a third game will be required to decide this Sunday in Termon with a 2pm throw in. The Reserves had no game last weekend due to the shortcomings of our fixtures board. The Reserve Championship fixture is fixed for this Saturday evening with an away trip to Carndonagh with a 6:30pm throw in. All support appreciated.

The ladies played their league final against Milford on Sunday last and while there was disappointment in the end this is a young team with most players under 18 and they will have another day in the future. Milford showed experience at times and while there was great team work and play at times from the girls it was not to be their day. A great achievement to reach the final and much credit to all involved in training and organising this team. The  u16 girls semi-final is on in Glenfin on Tuesday 6th Sept with a 6.30pm throw in.

The club are organising a fundraiser with a difference during October and November which should be good craic also. 20 homes will host a Come Dine With Me night by inviting friends and family to join them for a night of great food. All guests will meet up in Dannie Minnies that night where the night’s winners will be announced. Please see

facebook and website for further details.

The monthly club meeting will be this Friday night at 7:30 and all committee members especially are asked to attend.

Lotto details for week 31st August; jackpot 2480 euro. No jackpot winner. There was four match 3 winners – Mary Mulholland – Coinn Caslagh, Eileen McGee – Ranamona, Michelle Ward – Surgery Annagry and Darren Gallagher –  Eilt an Eaine. Numbers were 9-23-24-30.
