INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONS 2011!!!!!
The monkey is gone, the bogey is no more, congratulations to everyone involved in Sunday’s historic win of the Cathal McLaughlin Cup as intermediate county champions, the massive commitment put in by players and management has paid off. Many thanks to all our supporters who turned out in great numbers both at the game and at the celebrations thereafter. Thanks also to those who organised the reception in Mountcharles at short notice including MC Mark Dorrian, members of the St Naul’s Pipe Band Ardaghey, Brendan Gallagher for the stage and also to management and staff of The Village Tavern for the after match meal and anyone else who helped out in any way.
Back to league action this Sat (22nd) when both seniors and reserves play Aodh Ruadh at home with 3.30 and 5 o’clock throw ins.
The seniors make the long journey to Armagh on Sunday week (30th) to play the Armagh intermediate champions, Culloville Blues, in the quarter final of the Ulster intermediate club championship. Anyone interested in travelling by bus to Armagh is asked to contact Helena (087 6630105) after 3 pm. or by text at any time before this Sunday (23rd). If there is sufficient numbers a bus will be organised.
UNDERAGE
It was a great start to a memorable weekend for the club when the U-13’s beat Kilcar in Fintragh on Saturday morning last in the division 2 regional final on a score line of 2-8 to 2-5, in a very good team performance. St Nauls had to dig deep in the second half when Kilcar came back at them but held on and had too much in the end for a spirited Kilcar team, half time score was 1-7 to 0-1. Congratulations to the players and management team of Donnie, John and Shaun, (Peter away working this weekend), the very best of luck in the County semi-final.
The minor division 2 county final against Four Masters is in McCumhaill Park this Sunday (23rd) with a 3 o’clock throw in. Please continue your support for this important game. Let’s get the colours out again for our minors.
SLOTTO
There was no winner of last weekend’s Slotto jackpot, winners of 40 Euro each for nearest to correct sequence were John Sheerin and Eugene Carr both Mountcharles, sequence drawn was 6-2-5-3-1-7 & 4. This weekend’s jackpot will be 1,980 Euro.
