A unique experiment which saw a short Donegal film pitted against another film from Derry has ended in victory for the Donegal film-maker!

The experiment saw Brighter Days – a film by Letterkenny-based man Daniel McGarrigle – go head-to-head with Derry film Pride In Our City.

The aim of the challenge was to promote both films using social media to see who got the most number of views.

Donegaldaily.com featured six minute film Brighter Days with just two days left of the experiment and we received a tremendous feedback from our loyal readers

In the end Brighter Days won after receiving 3,409 compared to 3,290 views for the Derry film.

Brighter Days, which featured film-maker Daniel’s grandfather Colm Melly speak about his life and times in The Rosses and in England, proved a huge hit with our viewers.
