LETTERKENNY ATHLETIC CLUB NOTES

THE club would like to congratulate Brendan ‘Herbie’ McDaid on being appointed as a Grade 5 level Technical Official with Athletics Ireland. Level 5 NTOs are also accredited as IAAF Level. This is another prestigious appointment, at national level, for our cub stalwart and we wish him continued success.

Well done to Danny Mooney, who finished second after he ran 8.29.32 at Sheffield Indoor Meet last weekend.

Also, congratulations to Ciaran ‘Doc’ Doherty who came 5th in the Clonliffe Christmas Cracker 5k. Ciaran, ran 15.07.

At the North West Cross Country Championship’s in Gransha, Derry, we had seven athletes in action last weekend. Well done to Gary Crossan (16th), Ciaran McBride (19th), Charlie Page (26th). Aidan McKenna (59th) John Cannon (80th) Richard Raymond (90th) and Brian McBride (92nd).Congratulations also to our Chairman, Michael Black on his new business venture.

Finally, the club would like to wish all members and their families a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year. Also, don’t eat too much turkey because plans are now advanced for the 5 mile run on January 8. The course is being measured and further details will be released in the coming days.
