LETTERKENNY ATHLETIC CLUB NOTES

AFTER the festive break it is back into action this weekend with the 5 mile race-fun run in Letterkenny and the Northern Ireland Cross Country Championship’s.

Anybody going to race tomorrow ( Saturday) Jan 7th in Scotstown Co Monaghan in the Northern ireland XC, Junior(10k m 4k w) and Vet o35 (8k m 4k w) has to be entered. The five mile New Year race –fun run will take place on Sunday with registrations from 10am at Aura Leisure Centre.

The race will start at 11.30 am and the course is out as far as New Mills and back in again, finishing at Aura. This should be a popular race-fun run and everyone is asked to come out in support. Entry is 8 euro and all are welcome.

Congratulations to Noreen McGettigan and Adam Speer who were first female and male home in the run around Atlantic Drive on New Year’s Day. Noreen, is making great progress and should be one to watch again this year.

The club would like to extend sympathy to the Friel family, Glencar on their recent bereavement. The lotto numbers drawn at the weekend were 3, 10, 20 and 24. There was won match three winner-Karen Moore. The jackpot this weekend in The Glencar Inn is €970.
