Naomh Mhuire

The under 8s and under 10s resume training this Saturday in the Sportshall at the RCS. Training will be outdoors if the weather is good enough so come prepared for indoor/outdoor session. The under 8s will train from 11am – 12pm with the under 10s training from 12pm – 1pm. Under 8s training is for children born in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Under 10 training is for children born in 2002 and 2003.

Under 12 training continues every Tuesday at the RCS from 7pm – 8pm. This is for children born in 2000 and 2001.

Training for under 14s, under 16s and minor players takes place in the Aislann in Ranafast every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and on Saturday evenings from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. It is important that all players in these age groups are in attendance as the under 14 and minor leagues are due to start in March.

Great News that Naomh Mhuire GAA Club is winners of the Cope Rewards scheme 2011 earning the prize of €1275 over competition from Dungloe GAA Club, Na Rossa GAA Club and the RNLI.

This money goes straight into facility and coaching development at the Banks. The club would like to thank all who took out the rewards keys in the clubs name and for supporting the initiative at the Cope in Annagry and Dungloe. We were the best shoppers in both stores which is a reflection of the great support locally. We would like to thank the Cope for setting up this scheme and we look forward to working with them again in 2012. We also received sponsorship through the Cope Community trust early this year and their local support has been outstanding. Go raibh maith agaibh uilig.

Kick start to healthy eating. Great turnout to healthy eating initiative 30 men and women weighed in as a start to either losing a few pounds, eating better and getting fit as part of a group. This is an all are welcome initiative and everyone should feel free to join in at any stage. Initial registration is €10 and then €5 weekly with all monies in January going to Ladies football at Naomh Mhuire. Every Wednesday at 7pm at the Mullaghderg Banks.

Lotto details for week 4th January. Jackpot 740 euro. No winner. There were two match 3 winners – Eileen Boyle – Doirenamainsear. Ainsley Devenney – Rann na Feirste. Numbers were 9-14-18-19.

100 Club December draw: E400; Ladies Board. E200; John Boyle – Mullachdubh/Ballyboden Wanderers. E100 each; Timmy Rodgers – Carrickfin, Cian Doherty – Carraicachoill, Michael Sharkey – Anagaire and Ciaran McGinley – Coilcheim.

Last weekend the economic crisis in our Country has really hit home with the closure of The Rosses Bar,Mullachdubh. Neddie’s as it is locally know has been a good sponsor of our club down through the years and will be sorely missed by the community. We wish Gary, Roseleen and family the best of luck and hope when things start to improve economically they can open up for business again. Slan go foill.
