MURPHY MAY GO UNDER THE KNIFE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Donegal captain Michael Murphy may have to undergo surgery in a bid to have him ready for the county’s championship campaign.

The Glenswilly star will see a specialist tomorrow and could miss a number of Donegal’s League games.

The operation is believed to be related to the player’s ongoing groin injury.

Donegal’s first Championship game will be against Cavan in May and Murphy is expected to be complete recovered for that encounter.

The injury has plagued Murphy in recent months and made him miss a number of games including the start of the All Ireland semi-final against Dublin last summer.
