Lord Mayor of Letterkenny Cllr Gerry McMonagle is kicking up a stink after the disclosure that it costs €7.42 each time someone uses the town’s public toilets.
It follows the release of information which shows it costs €26,000 to service both the public toilets in the town centre close to the courthouse and at the town park.
There is now charge for the town park toilets and last year the revenue raised by the town centre toilet was just €350.
Cllr McMonagle said the council should now try and get out of the maintenance contract.
