Termon GAA Notes: Week Ending 30/01/12
Ladies Board:
Congratulations to Meabh Mc Daid and Lauren Mc Ilwaine who were both selected on the Donegal U 14 panel, Lauren has also been appointed joint team Captain. Congratulations also to Holly Mc Daid who was selected for the Donegal U 16 panel.
The finals of the 2011 Karen Mc Glynn competition were played on Saturday evening. Despite the inclement weather the competition was completed with Termon defeating a gallant Milford in the final and St Michaels overcoming St Eunans in the shield final. Afterwards Harry Mc Glynn on behalf of the Mc Glynn family presented the Karen Mc Glynn trophy to joint Termon captains Geraldine Mc Laughlin and Petra Mc Cafferty. The Ladies board would like to thank all parents, mentors, players and officials who supported this event to make it such a memorable occasion.
Congratulations to Geraldine Mc Laughlin who received the Donegal Secondary School Girl award, and Mel O Donnell Killmacrenan who received the Primary School teacher award at the Donegal Sport Star awards on Friday night .
The club intend to have a Junior ladies team again this year given the success last year. If you are interested in playing this coming year, please contact Harry McGlynn on 086 850 0734.
Minor Board:
The Under 12 & Under 14 Boys Squads continue training in the Craoibhin on Fridays from 7.30pm – 9.30pm . All new players are welcome in those age groups, any queries contact either PJ McFadden on 086 864 1159 or Bernard Gallagher on 087 694 9165.
The Minor Board have produced an excellent 2012 calendar which is for sale in Gracie Stores, The Lagoon, Mandy Sweeney’s and The Millbridge store. Calendars cost €10. Eddie Harkin, Minor Board Chairman can also be contacted for a calendar on 086 608 2512.
Lotto:
The Lotto draw took place in the Lagoon, Termon on Friday last. The winning numbers were 5,6,8 and 22. There was no Jackpot winner, There was 3 winners in the open draw Hugh Rodden, Charlie Boyle and Sarh Kho won €10 each. Next weeks draw takes place in McClaffertys, Churchill. Paul Doherty and Patrick + Essie McGrenra are the coordinators. The jackpot now is €1650.
Club Social:
The club will be hosting a Mr and Mrs in the Lagoon on the 17th of February 2012. A good nights craic is guaranteed. More details in the coming weeks.
The club social night takes place on the 10th of March 2012. Save the date now, more details and tickets will be available in the coming weeks.
Other:
Congratulations to former club member James Harkin on winning the Club Person of the year at the Chloich Cheann Fhaola GAA dinner dance at the weekend.
The Burn Road pitch will now be closed until the 25th of March to allow for routine maintenance.
