TEMPERATURES SET TO PLUNGE FROM TONIGHT BUT SNOW UNLIKELY

Temperatures are set to plunge tonight across Donegal with a low of -3 bringing a sharp ground frost, according to the Donegal Weather Channel.

However it seems that Donegal and the North West may escape any snowfall with the east and south coast of the country the most likely to get a taste of the white stuff.

Temperatures will continue to remain in the minus figures with a possibility of -5 on both Wednesday and Thursday night.

Motorists are also being advised to take extra care with ice and freezing fog a real threat.

Friday will be another cold day but a change may come for over the weekend with milder air to push in from the west.

Donegal, Derry and other county council from the north and northwest are more than prepared for any cold weather that comes there way with high levels of salt to keep roads safe.
