DONEGAL people worldwide got to hear an incredible version of the Oscar-winning song ‘Falling Slowly’ at the launch of the Donegal Diaspora Project this week.

Sung in Irish by Colaiste Ailigh students Oisin O Daibhin and Oonagh Ni Chleirigh, an audience of special guests including Maura Brennan were mesmerized by their version.

The song was written and performed by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and appeared in their 2007 film ‘Once’ and went on to scoop an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

The students sang their version at the Radisson Hotel in Letterkenny – the performance was beamed worldwide via the internet.
