ALCORNS IS GEARING UP FOR THAT VERY SPECIAL DAY – MOTHER’S DAY

With Mother’s Day coming up on March 18th, it will be quite an emotional day for many Donegal families.

This year in particular, with so many young people having to emigrate to find work, many mothers will be denied that special smile for a son or daughter, or a tender embrace on Mother’s Day.

However, many will send their love in a bunch of flowers.

Not all of us know exactly our Mum’s favourite flowers, but we all know a beautiful bunch will bring a smile to her face, if not a tear to her eye!

Of course, not everyone has left this wee country of ours! Many will have the joy of giving and receiving flowers personally this Mother’s Day.

Caroline at Alcorn’s said “Not all of us have a partner, but we all have a mother. Some, unfortunately, only have memories of theirs but still honour them on Mother’s Day with a tribute in their memory.”

It is one of the busiest days of the year for any flower shop, but at Alcorn’s, care is taken to make each order as beautiful and individual as the person it’s intended for.

Caroline added “It’s a hectic couple of days for our delivery drivers, so watch out for the distinctive Alcorn’s vans in your area.”

Whilst some customers prefer to collect and give their arrangements personally, others like the surprise of a delivery to their mum, and Alcorn’s should know – they have been delivering flowers for over 35 years!
