A stand-off at a popular Letterkenny bar and restaurant is over.

The incident, which was taking place at the Millview Bar and Restaurant at Newmills, had been ongoing since early yesterday morning.

The premises is owned by a local businessman who is currently in negotiations with a bank over the premises.

The premises have been leased and run by a local couple for the past number of years.

Gardai were at the scene for a time yesterday as more than 50 supporters of the couple were there.

A number of people supporting the businessman were also there.

Both sides in the dispute said they could not comment for legal reasons.
