GAA NOTES: SEAN MACCUMHAILLS

SENIOR FOOTBALL. Our senior footballers took on Naomh Bríd in near perfect conditions in Mac Cumhaill park. We were slow to start and missed several chances, whilst Naomh Bríd took all their opportunities. Half time had Mac Cumhaills trailing by 7 points.There was a massive improvement in the second half, with Mac Cumhaills moving the ball quickly into the inside forwards. Mac Cumhaills levelled with 3 mins to go and added another 2 points, including a superb long range effort from David White. Final Score Mac Cumhaills 2-10 Naomh Bríd 0-14. Scorers were Marty O Reilly 1-08(1-05 from play), Benny Mc Loughlin 1-01 and David White 0-01. Please see our Facebook page for a full match report.

 

RESERVE FOOTBALL.Our reserves played Naomh Bríd. Management of the reserves have used a lot of new players in the team and it payed dividends. All new players played extremely well and overall this was a very good team performance. Scores were Stephen Mulligan 1-02, Mark Dorrian 0-03, Ryan Duffy 0-01, Chris Gallen 0-05, Paddy Kelly 1-02 and Seamus Mc Ginty 0-01. Well done lads.

 

THIRD TEAM. Training for the 3rd team this Tue at 8.30pm.We need everyone to attend as our first match is away to Pettigo on Sat night at 7.00pm. For more details contact Anthony Logue 0876830320.

SENIOR HURLING. Our senior hurlers play Na Seamroga in the quarter final of The Tain Club Hurling league on Sat in Mac Cumhaill park at 2.00pm. Please support the lads as they progress through this competition

 

SENIOR LADIES FOOTBALL.Anyone wishing to play or help out with the Ladies team please contact Enda on 086 8876401.

 

UNDER 16. Well done to our under 16’s who beat St Eunans in Mac Cumhaill park on Sunday evening. Two wins in the last 2 games. Well done lads.

Under 14 Girls away to Glenfinn Wed 4th at 7.00pm.

Under 14 Hurling. Away to St Eunans Thur 5th

Under 18 Hurling. Home to St Eunans Thur 5th.

Seniors and Reserves are home to Killybegs on Good Friday. First match 6.00pm.

Senior Hurlers home to Na Seamroga Sat 7th at 2.00pm.

Third Team. Away to Pettigo Sat 7th at 7.00pm.

Under 16 Football. Home to Carndonnagh. Check facebook for match times.

CONGRATULATIONS

The annual Donegal awards Banquet took place in the Abbey Hotel on Fri 30th March. Sean Mac Cumhaills was well represented, with 17 players receiving 22 medals. Mac Cumhaills players received medals for Ulster U21 Hurling Shield, Lory Meagher Winners 2011, Lory Meagher Runners up 2010, Ulster U21 Championship medals and All Ireland runners up.Well done lads, you are a credit to the club. REGISTRATION

Registration is now overdue for 2012. ALL players and members must be registered before 31 March 2012. If you are not registered before this date, it will affect your player insurance and your voting rights at the AGM. Please contact Stephen Lynch 0874147764. Cost of membership is: €70 for Family membership, € 30 for Adults and €10 for children.

There were no winners of the lotto this week. Numbers were 10,23,25,28.

There were no match 3 winners.
