Over 100 young scouts from all over Donegal and Tyrone assembled on a sun-kissed Culdaff over the weekend for the Errigal Scout County Scout Challenge where they undertook a number of scouting challenges along an 8k hike.

Scouts from Lifford, Letterkenny, Raphoe, Strabane, Castlederg, Buncrana Carndonagh, Clonmany, Quigley’s Point as well as host group Bocan arrived at the campsite on the farm of the Mills Family who provided the facility at short notice.

Scouts from all groups were split into smaller groups with members of other groups providing great opportunities for making new friends and leanring new skills from each other.

On Saturday morning they all set off on an 8k hike along the coast road stopping off at 10 locations along the way to undertake a number of scouting challenges including, making rope ladders, cooking on Triangia’s, learning compass and map reading and completing a number of team building puzzles.

Later that evening they got a change to go on a zip line and then finish off the night with a Campfire.

A lot of credit must go to the host group 20th Donegal (Bocan) who took on the responsibility recently when they original host were unable to facilitate, so a big thanks to all the Leaders and helpers in providing a great event (and weather) at such short notice.
