THIS Sunday the action centres around the North West 10k in the town. Many club athletes have been training hard for the event which is expected to attract a bumper crowd of over 3,000 participants.

Congratulations to Vice-Chairman Brendan ‘Herbie’ McDaid who was elected onto the AAI Board as Ulster Provincial representative ending his four year term as chairman of competitions.

Darren McBrearty ran a time of 3.43.9 for the 1500 metres in America last weekend. Last Friday night we had a number of athletes in action at the Milford 5k. Irene McFadden was the star of the show winning the ladies race in a personal best time of 19.46.

Letterkenny AC chairman Michael Black won the men’s race in a time of 15.48 followed by clubmates Kieran McBride (16.13), Gary Crossan (16.17) and Gerard McGranaghan (16.59). Well done to Lee Gildea who ran a very impressive 18.35.

The lotto numbers drawn at the weekend were; 8, 12, 13 and 23. There were two match three winners; Ann Catterson and Paddy McIntyre. The jackpot in The Glencar Inn on Saturday night is €1,140.
