THE annual Inter Firms 5k road race will take place on Tuesday (May 22) at 7.30 pm. The event is one of the highlights of the local racing calendar and organisers are hoping there will be a large turnout.
Registration will take place from 6pm at Aura Leisure Centre. The entry fee is €8. There are individual and team prizes.
We had a number of runners in the inaugural Kilmacrennan 5k on Tuesday night. Over 550 people took part in the event in aid of the local national school.
Joe English led the LAC charge finishing second place in a time of 17.47. He was followed in 8th place by Lee Gildea who ran 18.45- another superb run from the young Listillion man who is looking at a strong inter-firms.
Veteran Kevin Toner finished in 16th (19.43) followed by Paul McMonagle in 20th (19.51), Gerard Mullen-31st (20.38), and Hugh Gallagher 44th (21.10).
The lotto jackpot this Saturday night in The Glencar Inn is €1,160.
