Rosses AC

The Rosses Primary Schools Sports day was held at Carrickfinn on Wednesday last with a large turnout from the schools. Comhghairdeas le scoil Rann na Feirste a bhain an cupa den scoil bheag is fearr den triu bliain as a cheile. Bhi scoil Roshine ins an dara hait. Well done Scoil Anagaire on winning the senior cup from scoil Rann na Feirste. A great day had by all. Anybody who would like to take part in the parade on Sunday to meet at the Cope in Annagry for 1:30pm. Make sure to wear your orange t-shirts and sweaters. The Grand Prix series of Road Races came to Annagry last Friday night. Over 50 brave runners took to the road and in the end it was Shaun McShane who came out on top from Dominic Bonner in second. Another Gweedore man was third in Noel Diver with Hugh Duffy from Cranford forth and Fionnuala Diver fifth and first woman home. Nicola Doherty continued her good form with second followed closely by Helen McCready in third and Ita Gallagher pushing them all the way. Thanks to all club athletes who supported and to all club members and others who helped out on the day. Well done to Tracey Boyle who was the first female home in the Extreme Full Marathon in Ballyliffin at the weekend. And to Brid McCole and John Bonner from Burtonport did the Extreme Half Marathon and ran very well also. Tough going but great runs by all. Again a reminder to all to ensure you have registered with the club and ideally wearing the club colors for races.
