HURLING: COUNTY MINOR BOARD NEWS

The U21 County Hurling team were beat in the Ulster U21 Hurling Championship Shield by Tyrone. Level at half-time Donegal tired visibly in the second half. However it is a credit to all the teams especially those who represented the team during their examinations.

The U14 A Hurling Championship saw Buncrana beat Aodh Ruadh. Aodh Ruadh battled through and despite a good finish were unable to catch the Buncrana team who were deserved winners. Good luck to both teams who represent the county in the All-Ireland Feile. Burt beat MacCumhaills in the U14 B Hurling Championship. Well done to both teams on reaching the final.

Don’t forget the open invite for Donegal Hurlers to the puck fada in Ulster which will take place on Divis Mountain on Thursday 21st June, commencing at 7.00pm. For more information contact Jimmy Darragh at jimmy.darragh.ulster@gaa.ie

The U16 & U12 Hurling Leagues are kicking off over the next couple of weeks. The U16 Hurling League Round 1 between Setanta and St Eunans will be held on the 5th July. The U12 compete in the League beginning on July 5th. The next U10 blitz will be held in O’Donnell Park (St. Eunan’s) on the 24th June. The U8’s blitz will be held in the Gaels pitch. All dates are provisional. Please confirm your attendance at blitzes for the convenience of the host club.

On Sunday morning Aodh Ruadh hosted an under 12 blitz where Letterkenny Gaels and Four Masters travelled to Father Tierney Park the lads played some great hurling. Thanks to all the mothers of the players who as usual fed all present, thanks to Peter Horan who refereed the games.
