u-14 County Final - Ardara v Four Masters. Well done to both teams

Donegal U14 Ladies B Championship County Final Report
By Michael Masterson

Ardara v’s Four Masters
Score 5-04 to 4-04
11 July 2012
Referee – Andrew Mullin, Killybegs.

A big crowd gathered at the Old Pitch in Fintra, Killybegs for the Donegal U14 Ladies B Championship County Final with both sides well supported at the beachfront venue.
Ardara started the better with an early long range goal followed up by a closer shot and a point giving them the dream start without any reply from the Masters.
The Ardara girls were dominant and despite the Masters girls coming into the game with a goal and a point and having a goal coming from a rebound from the bar disallowed due to a square ball, Ardara went in  9 points up at half time.

Ardara picked up where the left off with another early goal in the second half and it looked like a landslide, but the Donegal Town Girls were not prepared to give up their excellent season without a fight and had not read that script. The Masters came into the game and linked their play and started to show their potential, they pressurised Ardara, developed their chances and took their scores also hitting the woodwork twice and missing a penalty leaving the score 5-04 to 3-03 with 10 minutes to go, the Masters pressed on with another goal and a point  leaving the margin of 1 goal in the last 3 minutes but a relieved Ardara hung on for victory with a final score of 5-04 to 4-04 from a thrilling, exciting and excellent final.

Ardara Team List – Natasha Mc Cole (c), Lara Sweeney (c), Rosa Kelly, Emer Sweeney, Emma Sweeney, Orna Gallagher, Niamh Gallagher, Leanne Sweeney, Roisin Maguire, Emma Gallagher, Hannah Sweeney, Fiona Mc Loughlin, Sarah Harkin, Eimear Gallagher, Edel Mc Hugh, Courtney Mc Connell, Ellen Bennett, Rachel Mc Neilis, Shauna Mc Neilis, Denise Deveanny, Dearbhla Travers
