THERE was a huge outpouring of grief today as the teenager killed in a car accident at Drumkeen last week was laid to rest today.

Hundreds and hundreds of mourners packed into St Patrick’s Church in Drumkeen for the Requiem Mass for Shane Patton.

Shane was fatally injured in a road traffic incident not far from his home just before midnight on Wednesday. He died on Thursday afternoon at Letterkenny General Hospital.

He was a son of Martin and Julie Patton, Cloghroe.

A former pupil at St Columba’s College in Stranorlar, many of his classmates were among the huge congregation today.

Interment followed afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
