Annual BBQ and Fundraising Draw: Buncrana GAA Club hosted their Annual BBQ on Sat 18th at the Scarvey, a great nights craic was had by all. A Charity Fundraiser on the night saw Owen Roe lose his 40 year old moustache. This raised a brilliant €500 from those present on the night for the Good and New Galway Bus for Cancer patients. Other heroes of the night were Oisin Doherty(X) and Gary Duffy who broke the pain barrier and got their legs (& thighs!) waxed for Chairty. They’ll never say anything to the ladies about the beauticians again. Thanks to Della Kelly from Mary Kay who facilitated the waxing. Not to be outdone, our Chairman Paul McGonigle also got in on the act and sported a very fetching green and yellow hairdo for the night. Well done & thanks to all involved.

A fundraising draw also took place & many thanks to everyone who bought & sold lines. A huge thanks to John Barr Fashions & Christy Doherty Shoe & Sports who sponsored the Jersey’s, to the Ladies Senior team who contributed to the hamper & to Frank Roe who sponsored the Hurleys.

No. 1 Anne Hegarty, Inch Island

No. 2 Francie Gallen, Letterkenny

Quiz: The All County Quiz will take place in the Scarvey at 8.30pm on Friday 24th August. The winning team will then take part in the Final in the Abbey Hotel on Thursday 20th September. All proceed are going to the County Development squad. Huge numbers of local supporters are travelling to Croke Park to supports the lads, this is another great way to support the team and have a great nights craic!

Ladies Senior Football: The Buncrana ladies lost out to an experienced Milford side in the Championship at the weekend. The ladies shouldn’t be too disheartened as they have made huge strides this season and will continue to improve. Training continues on Wednesday evening.

Senior Football: It was a disappointing weekend for our Senior Footballers, who were beaten by Aodh Ruadh on Saturday evening in Ballyshannon.
