ST EUNAN’S BID FOR WORLD RECORD GAA COACHING SESSION

WHAT A LINE-UP! DONEGAL PLAYERS GET BEHIND WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

Today in St. Eunan’s GAA Club, a Community Fundraiser was launched by Uachtarán CLG Liam O’Neill along with County Players Michael Murphy, Rory Kavanagh, Colm McFadden, Frank Mc Glynn, Thomas McKinley, Martin O’Reilly, and Michael Boyle.

On September 29th the club will attempt to break the World Record currently held by the Na Fianna GAA Club in Dublin of 2,185 people, for the Largest GAA Coaching Session ever held at a single venue.

Leading out this fundraising initiative are Alma Kavanagh and Paul Mc Govern and the fundraiser is reaching out to all the local schools in the greater Letterkenny area to help them in their bid to succeed in this.

There was a large number of schools present for the launch and St. Eunan’s would like to sincerely thank all the Principals and teachers present who came out to support the launch during their Summer break. Present were, Mr Míchael Ó Giobúin, Coláíste Ailigh; Mr. Chris Darby, St. Eunan’s College; Ms Teresa Devenney, Mrs Elaine Mc Govern and Mrs Ann Carr, Loreto Convent; Mr. Charlie Cannon, Errigal College; Mr. Paddy Flood, Deele College; Mr Colm Breathnach, St Patrick’s N.S Drumkeen; Mrs Denise Duffy, Lurgybrack N.S;  Mr. Kevin Caldwell and Eibhlín Roache Woodland N.S; Mr Padraig Cannon, Scoil Cholmcille; Múinteoir Máire Breen, Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin; Ms Ann Marie Mailey, Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál;Mr Joseph Gallanagh, Glenswilly N.S; Mr Mel Ó’Donnell, Scoil Cholmcille Kilmacrennan; Mrs Therese Mc Monagle, Stramore N.S and Mrs Doreen Sheridan & Mary Larkin, Scoil Naomh Fiachra, Illistrin. This fundraiser is for the schools and club combined with school keeping 60% of money raised to promote Gaelic Games within their schools.

It is certain to be a great day for all the schools with BBQ, Face Painting, Races and water sponge throws all billed for the day. The St. Eunan’s club would like as many schools as possible to roll in behind this great community fundraiser and more information can be obtained from co-ordinators Alma Kavanagh 087-6952551, Paul Mc Govern 086-8114151 and Elaina Gallagher 087-2901541.

The announcement came on the day that it was announced the club will have four full-time coaches this year, taking gaelic games into the community.
