Starting with championship news, and well done to our reserves, who had a comprehensive victory over Naomh Colmcille in the second leg of the first round on Sunday afternoon. Our seniors did not enjoy the same result however, and exited the championship. Our third team held St Eunans to a draw in Páirc na nGael on Saturday evening, in the first round, first leg of the Junior B Championship. We must give a special mention to John Joe Doherty and Noel Hegarty, who lined out for our third team while the 1992 county team reunion was underway in the Abbey Hotel. At the time of going to press the return leg was due to be played this Saturday evening, August 25th, at 7pm in Letterkenny. Our under 21 side will continue the championship on Tuesday evening next, August 28th, with a home draw v Naomh Colmcille. Throw in at 7pm at Páirc na nGael. In underage news, pride of place goes to our under 14 lads, who took home the Division 2 Championship title on Wednesday evening last, with a 4 point victory over St Nauls. This victory is another in a very good season for the club at underage, and we congratulate Gabriel, Andrew, and all the lads on their success. Our under 13s lost out to neighbours Cill Chartha in the league on Friday evening. Tráth na gCeist: The All County General Knowledge Quiz, in aid of the Donegal Team training fund, takes place this Friday, August 24th. The quiz will be broadcast live throughout the county to all club venues. The Naomh Columba quiz will take place in The Glen Head Tavern, at 9pm. Winning teams from each club will take part in all county final in the Abbey Hotel on Fri 20th Sept. Please come along and support. Ádh mór: we wish the county team every success in Sunday’s semi-final, and safe journey to everyone making the journey from the southwest to Páirc an Chrócaigh! It’s all systems go for our charity cycle in aid of Temple Street on Sunday, September 9th. Anyone who is still looking for a sponsorship card, please get in touch asap. A table quiz and barbeque will take place in the Glen Head Tavern at 7pm that evening, with some good prizes up for grabs, so get your teams together now and get studying!
