A DISUSED hotel due to be demolished was brought to the ground instead in the past hour by a raging fire.
The Lough Swilly Hotel in Buncrana – or the remains of it at least – has been on fire for the past few hours.
Fire crews have brought the blaze under control. There are no injuries.
Thick smoke was sent over a wide area of the town as a result of the fire.
Planning permission to allow the building to be knocked down was granted by the local council several years ago.
