Two Presidents, One Fight for Sam Maguire!

Sunday 23 September, 2012 will be a big day for Donegal and Mayo supporters alike, with the men from the West ready to take on the men from the Northwest.

But the war of attrition is also taking place throughout the County, with Mayo and Donegal supporters sharing heated exchanges about the challenge ahead.

Letterkenny Institute of Technology is no different, the Student Union President, David Heraty who hails from Westport, Co. Mayo is ready for battle against Paul Hannigan, LYIT President, a Ballyshannon native, their battle this time is bragging rights for the remainder of the academic year.

The nervous anticipation can be felt throughout the Institute, with a large cohort of students attending the Institute coming from Mayo, the banter on-campus is rife and competitive to say the least.

Win or lose, one of these men will be unhappy on Monday 24 September, but this row will only be settled on the field, when the ref blows the whistle on the most important game both counties have had to face.

‘Letterkenny I.T Student County Colours and an All-Ireland Final Fun Day’ takes place on Wednesday 19 September at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology campus.

All proceeds from this day will go to local charities.
