SEAN MAC CUMHAILLS CLUB NOTES 01/10/12

RESULTS.

SENIORS. We travelled to St Michaels for our first round championship match. Mac Cumhaills started brightly and took an early 1-01 lead thanks to a Stephen O Reilly goal. It was nip and tuck for most of the half with St Michaels scoring a goal before half time. Mac Cumhaills came back them again with 2 points to finish the half one point down. The second half showed why St Michaels are one of the favourites for the championship. Playing with a strong breeze, they kicked over some great long range points. The contest was over at this stage, with St Michaels running out comfortable winners. Mac Cumhaills never gave up till the final whistle, which gives us hope for the return leg next Sat evening.

RESERVES. Our reserves fielded a very under strength team in their championship opener. They held their own in the first half, but the massive breeze and home advantage pushed St Michaels over the line. Management are confident that mac Cumhaills can turn this around in the 2nd leg.

3rd TEAM. Played Naomh Columba in the quarter final of the Junior B championship. Were beaten by 3 points.

UNDER 13 BOYS. We played Clouganeely away on Fri night. Mac Cumhaills had some great passages of play and showed great team work. Well done lads.

MINOR LADIES. Our minors got their campaign off to a flying start with a well deserved victory over Ballyshannon on Sun. Great play and teamwork saw the girls come away with a 4 point win. Well done girls.
