Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes 08/10/2012
Seniors:
It’s all down to sixty minutes this Sunday 14th October for our senior team, as we try and maintain our incredible record in championship finals.
Sunday’s opponents KKG have made a habit of winning against the odds this season and will go into the game full of confidence.
A huge effort has gone in on this special year and a victory on Sunday would be the icing on the cake. The club asks all members to come out in force in what should be an entertaining game and give the lads the support they deserve.
Throw-in is at 3.30pm.
Ladies:
Our ladies team will take to the field at Ruislip this Saturday in the junior championship final against Thomas McCurtains.
Amazingly this team have only being playing together for less than six months, credit must go to the management and coaching staff on helping the girls get this far.
The opposition will go into this game as strong favourites but already the girls have made all around the club take notice. So again we ask all members to be at Ruislip for the 11am throw-in and hopefully start the weekend in style.
Golf Day:
The club hosted another hugely successful golf day last Friday at South Herts golf club with the Kelly team winning the team event.
An embarrassed Seamus Carr collected the cup on behalf of the team with a winning score of 94 (amazing considering they spent most of the round in the trees)
Well done to Chairman Tom Mohan on organising and running another fantastic day and raising much needed funds for the club.
Gala Dinner:
All tickets have now been sold out for this historic night which is now less than three weeks away. All members are reminded that it is a black tie affair; the event starts at 7pm with a champagne reception, the Barry Owen band will provide the music with a special guest or two appearing on the night.
Check the club website throughout the coming weeks for more updated information.
Engagement:
The club would to pass on our best wishes to club member Brian Corry and his fiancé Louise Sammon on their recent engagement.
The happy couple will be holding a party to celebrate the occasion in The Life of Reilly pub, Kenton lane, Harrow on Saturday 20th October at 8pm. Free bar!
