Cathal Dunleavy appeared at Letterkenny District Court today.
He has already been charged with 16 offences, including 15 charges of dangerous driving and one charge of failing to provide a specimen of breath to Gardai.
The 23-year-old from Glenvar, Fanad, was arrested in the early hours of last Thursday and appeared at Letterkenny District court later that day.
In court today Garda Inspector Michael Harrison told Judge Paul Kelly that gardai are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions and would be asking the DPP to prefer more charges.
Dunleavy’s solicitor Donagh Cleary asked for the case to be adjourned for two weeks.
He also complained about some of the media coverage of the case, saying he planned to raise that issue at future hearings.
