THIS week was presentation time for Finn Valley’s young athletes and close to 300 parents and athletes turmed out at the club Centre for what was a simple yet effective community occassion.
Acknowledging some 52 athletes that amassed 102 national championship medals during the past season Patsy McGonagle underlined the enormous voluntary imput by the various group leaders introducing them and asked them to make presentations to each medal winner.
In addition team bags were handed out and all current athletes in this age range also received same the kind sponsorship contribution of Ann Marie Mc Geehin a club coach was mentioned on behalf of her company Rite Financial Solutions.
It was also alluded to that the club had a representative in the Olympic Games in Tori Pena plus team manager a further 2 competitors in the world junior champs with international schools and Masters recognition.
The year ahead will hopefully be an exciting challenge as both work on the training track to achieve and the physical completion of swim pool is due with work to begin on an additional playing field due to begin April.
The evening concluded with a social cuppa and refreshments and the parents who did turn out to show their appreciation were thanked.
The progress of the current development was outlined to those present.
The club feel it very important to underline both the coach contribution and the dedication of the young people in their care with the final word being that the basic requirement of all who become involved is that they should show respect and adopt a positive attitude and remembering that there is no substitute for working together.
