Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes 19/11/2012:

Reserves:

Congratulations to the reserve team on capturing the championship last Sunday against Fulham Irish after a three year absence.

Michael Mullen’s troops have gone unbeaten all season and went into this contest full of confidence and they did not let down.

Fulham struck early with a goal in the opening minute after a goalmouth scramble but the Gaels steadily got themselves back into it with points from Declan Alcorn (2), Kevin Downes (2), JP Boyle 0-1 and Ciaran Carr 0-1.

Fulham kept in touch with a further three points but a great finish in the closing minutes saw Ciaran Carr and Kevin Downes find the onion bag to leave the half time score TCG 2-6 Fulham 1-3.

Early in the second half the Gaels harshly lost Declan Alcorn for two yellow cards and all of a sudden we had a game on our hands.

Fulham added a few more points but the lads dug deep with points from Kieran Wall and JP Boyle 0-2f to leave a comfy gap, but with the game going into injury time Fulham clawed back a goal to leave three points in it.

Step forward super-sub Vivian Browne who scored an exceptional point to end the contest to the relief of his team mates and travelling supporters.

It was a great all round team performance with special mention for Brendan Mc Atarnsay, Ronan Walsh, Brendan Friel, Kevin Downes and man of the match JP Boyle.

Special thanks to the many club members who came out in force to support the lads and definitely played their part in the win..

Final score TCG 2-10, Fulham Irish 2-6.
