We start this week, yet again, with our heartfelt comhghairdeas to Coláíste na Carraige on their latest county title.
The under 16 team were victorious in an enthralling encounter with Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair on Friday afternoon last.
Well done to all the lads, and a particular congratulations to Paddy, Damien and Neilly. We look forward to following the lads as they go on to tackle Ulster. The school senior team will contest the Ulster quarter final this Friday, February 1st.
The Southern Regional College in Newry will provide the opposition, with the game scheduled for a 12 noon throw-in in Dromore, Co Tyrone. We wish Noel and the lads the very best of luck. Our fourth annual Stars in Their Eyes night takes place in Ionad Pobail Mhín an Aoire on Saturday next, February 9th. Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. We have an exciting line-up this year, and some very unexpected faces, so we hope ye will all join us for another good nights entertainment.
The preparations for our fundraising fight night are well underway, and training has commenced on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, at 8pm in the Lár Chomhairle office in Malinmore. We are looking to recruit several more boxers, so if you feel that you can commit to the training schedule, and are interested in taking part, please contact Kevin Squires, Noel Ellis, or contact the club via our Facebook page. The club are currently in the process of designing a new website. Our old website is long since defunct, and although we have a strong presence on both Facebook and Twitter, we feel these mediums do not cater for everyone. The site will be similar to the old one, in that it will be fully bilingual, and will cover all aspects of club news and activities. We are looking for our members input into the new site, and would welcome any suggestions on suitable content, and also any donations of pictures!
