Donegal television producer Pierce Boyce last night scooped a coveted IFTA award for the Best Reality Series with his wonderful Jockey Eile.

The Rathmullan-born film-maker was so confident of scooping the award that he even placed bets around the country on his series.

And with the winnings, he has promised to take his three children on a sunshine break during midterm.

Pearse was first up on stage to collect the award on behalf of his crew at the Convention Centre in Dublin

“As you can see it was great craic making it. I’d like to thank TG4 for allowing us to fart around making it for three months.

“I’d just like to say no horses were hurt making it,” he said.

Presenter Sean Ban Breathnach, who presented the series, also thanked all the jockeys in making the real-life series about life in the saddle.

The series beat ICA Bootcamp and Masterchef to the top award.
