The Donegal Mountain Rescue team have sent out an SOS for its own search dog which has gone missing.SAM_2846

Buddy, a black and white collie, has helped rescue dozens of people across the county in recent times.

The dog was last seen while out walking with its handler in the Iskaheen Mountain area near Muff today.

Buddy was wearing a hi-viz yellow jacket and also has a  number of dog tags around his neck.

He was last seen around noon when he strayed off while walking with his handler.

Despite an extensive search, Buddy has still not been found.

A spokesman for the DMRT said Buddy may be sheltering in a shed or may have been taken in by a family.

As well as being a valuable search and rescue dog, Buddy is also a cherished family pet belonging to handler Pete Brow.

Anybody who knows where Buddy may be should contact the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team.
