One of the highlights of the week was crowning Ms Grace Sweeney as the Glasgow representative to the 46th Mary From Dungloe Festival . Grace is no stranger to Dungloe and the Rosses …..her parents are from Meenacross and MeenaBhaoil.

The committee including Mrs Angela Medford and Mrs Breeda Ojo introduced Grace on stage at Saturday’s Festival St Patrick’s Day festival in Glasgow and there was a huge applause.

Grace said: “I am thrilled to be representing Glasgow , I have been to the festival so many times and admired the Marys.

“I can hardly believe I am going to be a part of it this year . I can’t wait. My parents are so proud and we are looking forward to a very exciting week in Dungloe”.

Glasgow was a sea of Green on Saturday.

The Donegal and Irish families celebrated their national day in style at the Merchants Square in the centre of Glasgow with Irish traditional music & ceilidh.

Mr Danny Boyle and the Irish Heritage Association started the week long festival at the Marriott Hotel , hosting special guest Manus Boyle from the 1992 All-Ireland winning Donegal team and the Sam Maguire Cup.
