BREAKING NEWS: Residents and fire crews are tonight tackling another massive gorse fire in west Donegal.
The latest blaze has taken hold in Bunawack between Crolly and Loughanure.
Roads in the area have been closed off as thick smoke from the blaze hangs over the area.
The fire is more than a mile wide from end to end and is being fanned by a strong wind.
There are fears the flames will spread close to homes, many of which are nearby.
It’s just the latest gorse fire to hit the area in recent days – and takes the number of gorse blazes in the county to more than 80 in the past 10 days.
Many sheep farmers in the area are also trying to rescue animals form the nearby hills.
The fire is also traveling towards the Rosses county county water treatment supply plant at Loughkeel.
The blaze is being fought by crews from Dungloe and Glenties and dozens of locals.
The added problem is that roads are being congested by people coming to see the massive blaze.
Meanwhile ANOTHER blaze between Muckish and Falcarragh at the back of Errigal road has just been brought under control by fire crews from Gaoth Dobhair and Falcarragh.
