Cllr Culbert’s remains are removed from the Donegal Hospice this evening.

A large crowd has attended the removal of the much-loved and respected local politician Cllr Tadhg Culbert from the Donegal Hospice this evening.

Prayers were said for the Fianna Fail town councillor who passed away earlier today at the age of 57.

Chief mourners at the removal were Cllr Culbert’s wife Hilda, son Andrew and daughter Lisa.

Cllr Culbert’s remains were brought to wife Hilda’s home at The Croft in Glencar where he will be waked before his funeral at St.Eunan’s Cathedral at 11am on Saturday.

A large crowd, including many of Cllr Culbert’s political colleagues, braved heavy showers to be at this evening’s removal.

Many tributes have been made to the affable and warm An Post worker who arrived in Letterkenny from his native Tipperary in May, 1973.
