SOCCER – BONAGEE UTD CLUB NOTES

Last Sunday the Donegal league team drew 1-1 away against Kerrykeel. They now play Ballybofey Utd. on Sunday week in Ballyare in the play off for promotion.bonagee united

The U.S.L. team defeated Fanad away 5-2 in the League Cup last Tuesday night with goals from Aiden Mc Laughlin (2) Dean Larkin, Jason Ashmore and Anthony Appiah. They are home to Drumkeen this Sunday 21st in the cup.

The under 14 tigers completed an historic season for the management team of Mickey Kelly, Charlie Patton and Bernard Harkin, when they defeated Swilly Ramblers 3-1 in the cup final at Ballyare last Saturday evening. Having already clinched the league title, Clement Abu notched a brace of goals while Ronan Mc Cann was also on target. In a great all round team performance, Ross Marley emerged player of the match. The under 14 team defeated an under strength Swilly Rovers side, with James Carolan scoring 5, while on Saturday morning at the Aura centre, James scored a hat -trick, and Peter Mc Eniff added another as they defeated Letterkenny Rovers 4-3. They were due to play Dunfanaghy this week. They complete their league season with games against champions elect Illistrin and Ballyraine.

Having won the Europa league a few weeks ago, the under 16 side are due to meet Illistin in the league cup final this Saturday. Kick off at 5.30pm at Leckview Pk. All support welcome. In the last 10 days our u12 team defeated Glencar 6-0, Adam Murphy 1, Peter Carr 1 Daragh Ellision and Jordan Nugent both scored 2,Jack Murphy and Peter Carr were best for Bonagee. They also beat Lagan 5-1, Peter Carr, Jonathan Coady, Dylan O’Brien Jordan Nugent and Jack Murphy all on the Score sheet to guarantee second place in the League. Daragh Ellision was man of the match.There was one match five no. winner in the clubs weekly lotto draw Jim O’Donnell Correnagh who gets €50. Numbers drawn were 3, 4,6,10,11,14 lucky no. 8. Next weeks jackpot is now €2100. Lucky no. winner’s Jasmine Funston Sligo, Sammy Harvey Drumnahoe, David Lackey Dublin, Jack Gildea Correnagh and Ryan Rainey Drumany. Lotto Plus winner’s €50 Donal M. Coyle Correnagh, €30 Kevin O’ Malley Dromore and €20 Katie Haughey Listillion. The club are holding a table quiz in Arena 7 next Friday night 26th April starting at ten sharp. Teams of four are welcome on the night
