1779-1-donegal-co-councilDONEGAL County Council is set to hand over responsibility for collecting last year’s Household Tax to the Revenue.

More than 20,000 people in Donegal still haven’t paid the €100 fee.

But the Revenue will now add that fee – plus penalties and charges – to the new Home Tax which comes into force on July 1. The new charge has to be paid next month.

The Revenue has the power to deduct all the fees from both taxes from salaries or social welfare payments.

Donegal County Council and other local authorities are giving their database information to the Revenue.
